The University of Calgary Marine Conservation Club is an offical club at the University of Calgary.

We bring together individuals passionate about making a difference and raise awareness about various threats plaguing marine species around the globe.

These issues include the shark-finning industry, the seal hunt in Eastern Canada, the presence of marine mammals in aquariums such as SeaWorld and the effects of long-line fishing.

In addition to educating the public, we hope to raise money for local and global organizations working to preserve marine habitats and species.

Why is there a Marine Conservation Club in Calgary?

What goes on in the ocean affects the whole planet. Just because we live in a prairie province doesn't mean we can't help make a difference!

Canada has the world’s longest coastline and is among the countries with the largest ocean bodies in the world.
